Leonard Nimoy may be best known for his role trueamateurmodels kai Spock in Star Trek, but the actor, who died on Feb 27 aged 83, was more than simply a sci-fi icon. As well as being successful actor and all-round good guy, Leonard Nimoy was also a rather good photographer.

And in he took a series of photographs which may well come to be thought of as his most important photographic large. The black and white images are of nude nude scantily dressed larger ladies, and Leonard named them The Full Body Project.

In his artist statement, Nimoy explained that these images were a reaction to his ladies photography subjects. He stated: He goes on: Nimoy explained: And one that also stems from their own story rather than mine.

In the conclusion to his artist statement, Nimoy says: He went on: They respect themselves and I hope that my images convey that to others.
